David Gandy
This is probably one of my most masculine pictures to date. No manicured eyebrows here!! I wanted to use pencil as the final product. I love pencil and when I was drawing this at one point it felt like I was floating in mid air!!! Oh, and if you don't know who David Gandy is, well he's a Male Supermodel of course!!
The dishevelled plait
I came across a picture in Harper's Bazaar, (whilst browsing at Borders like I do!), the May Issue where David Bromley painted Lily Allen, well painted from a photograph that is! Anyway, so I fell in love with this picture of a model sporting a dishevelled plait (which is all the trend at the moment, that and buns!) by redken stylist Carl Reeves. So that's where my fashion Illustration began. I opted for more colour and simple lines than the original to give an Ollie-twist to it.

After experimenting with pastels last week I have come up with a new formula, incorporating pencils, black marker pen and oil pastels. This is the first in what will be a series of new works.

I've recently had an urge to experiment with oil pastels. I love working with this medium. It's so raw! I don't think this is a final piece, but I love where I am going with it. It feels like it's about the pink lips at the moment!
Carrying with my oil pastels, I just had pure fun with this raw piece. I think it's perfect!
